Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Va Va Boombah, and continuing to develop Melbourne’s fat burlesque community. We have a number of roles available and a number of ways for people who don’t wish to perform to help out.

What We Ask

Once you have committed to a role, dedicate yourself to it as much as possible. Putting on a show is a huge group effort, and we trust and depend on the whole VVB team to bring everything together. That said, we understand that circumstances can change, so please let us know asap if your availability changes, or if you’re no longer able to volunteer your time.

Availability and time commitment

The amount of time we’ll ask you to commit will depend on what role/s you’re taking on. Obviously, anyone with an on-the-night job needs to be available on Friday 18th January for show, and possibly the technical rehearsal. Some of these roles may need to be available to attend the dress rehearsal on Saturday 5th January.

Ongoing volunteer roles will require regular email communication, willingness to work independently on tasks, and availability for occasional meetings. There may be times when your role is more demanding than others, such as in the lead-up to events.

Interested crew members are also invited to be part of the group performance numbers, but this is not compulsory. If you do want to be part of the group performances, there will be rehearsal commitments and costume expenses.
